Rediscover Comfort and Confidence
Breast aesthetic operations have become increasingly common, addressing a variety of needs and desires. Whether as part of post-surgical breast cancer treatment or purely for aesthetic enhancement, these procedures are designed to uplift individuals and restore confidence.
These operations encompass a range of techniques tailored to individual preferences and anatomical considerations. They include breast lift surgery, breast reduction, breast augmentation and breast implant procedures.
Breast aesthetics entail the meticulous reconstruction of the breast’s physical characteristics, encompassing alterations in size, shape, and fullness. Utilizing advanced surgical techniques and medical prostheses, such as implants, these procedures offer transformative results.
At MedLink Travel, we understand the significance of these decisions and offer comprehensive support throughout your journey to achieve the desired aesthetic outcome. Our network of skilled surgeons in Turkey ensures personalized care and superior results, empowering you to embrace your body with confidence.
Types of breast aesthetic procedures
Breast Augmentation
Breast augmentation, also known as augmentation mammoplasty, offers transformative options to enhance breast volume and shape. This procedure can be achieved through either fat transfer or the placement of implants. Implants, available in various shapes and sizes, are strategically positioned either between the chest muscles or behind the natural breast tissue, resulting in a noticeable increase in breast size, often by one or more cup sizes.
While breast augmentation is commonly associated with cosmetic enhancement, it serves a range of purposes beyond aesthetics. For some, it fulfills the desire for larger, more proportionate breasts, while for others, it restores lost volume following weight loss, pregnancy, or breastfeeding. Additionally, breast implants can be utilized for reconstructive purposes, offering hope and confidence to those who have undergone mastectomy, suffered injury, or seek correction for other reasons.
It's important to distinguish breast augmentation from breast lift procedures, as they address different concerns. Breast lift surgery focuses on reshaping and lifting sagging breasts to achieve a more youthful contour, while augmentation primarily aims to increase volume.
Breast augmentation, or mammoplasty, is sought for various aesthetic reasons, including:
- Enhancing naturally small breasts, often due to genetic predisposition.
- Restoring lost breast volume post-pregnancy or weight loss.
- Improving symmetry in cases of mild breast asymmetry.
Breast Reduction
Breast reduction surgery stands as a transformative solution for many women facing the physical and emotional burdens of excessively large breasts. While voluptuous curves are celebrated, the weight and size of large breasts can lead to a myriad of discomforts, from chronic back and neck pain to postural issues and skin irritations.
The strain caused by large breasts can manifest in various forms, including back and neck pain, hunching, and even difficulty breathing. Numbness in the arms due to pressure on nerves and skin issues like rashes and wounds in the under-breast area further compound the challenges faced by individuals with oversized breasts. These issues not only impact physical comfort but can also hinder daily activities and diminish self-confidence.
Breast reduction surgery offers relief by addressing both aesthetic concerns and medical problems associated with large breasts. The procedure involves the removal of excess breast tissue and skin while repositioning the nipple to achieve a more proportionate and balanced appearance. While the fundamental goals of breast reduction remain consistent, the specific techniques employed may vary based on individual anatomy and preferences.
It's essential to recognize that there's no one-size-fits-all approach to breast reduction surgery. Various methods exist, each with its unique advantages and considerations. Factors such as scar placement, scar quality, nipple sensation, and breastfeeding ability may vary depending on the chosen technique. Therefore, open communication between the patient and surgeon is paramount in determining the most suitable approach for achieving desired outcomes.
Breast Lift
Breast lift surgery, also known as mastopexy, offers a rejuvenating solution for women seeking to reclaim their pre-pregnancy silhouette and confidence. This procedure is designed to elevate and reshape the breasts, imparting a fuller, more youthful appearance.
During a breast lift, excess skin is removed, and the breast tissue is repositioned to create a rounder and firmer contour. Additionally, adjustments can be made to reduce the size of the areola, the colored area surrounding the nipple, for a more proportionate look. For some individuals seeking both lift and volume enhancement, breast silicone implants may be incorporated into the procedure.
The natural aging process, as well as the physical changes induced by pregnancy, breastfeeding, and fluctuations in weight, can lead to loss of elasticity and firmness in the breasts. Breast lift surgery is often the preferred option in such cases, restoring shape and symmetry to the breasts.
In certain instances, women may opt for a combination of mastopexy and breast augmentation to address both sagging and volume loss simultaneously. This procedure, known as breast lift with implants, allows for the enhancement of breast size while lifting their appearance in a single surgery.
A common concern for individuals considering breast lift surgery, particularly after pregnancy, is its impact on breastfeeding. It's important to note that breast lift procedures do not typically interfere with breastfeeding ability, making them a viable option for post-pregnancy rejuvenation.
How it Works
1. Pre-operative Preparation
Before your procedure, you'll undergo a consultation with our expert surgeon to discuss your goals and medical history. You may be advised to undergo pre-operative tests and refrain from certain medications or activities.
2. Anesthesia
You'll receive anesthesia to ensure you're comfortable and pain-free throughout the procedure.
3. Incisions
Depending on the chosen technique, incisions will be made to access the breast tissue.
4. Augmentation / Reduction / Lift
Implants are inserted, excess tissue is removed, or breast tissue is reshaped and lifted to achieve the desired outcome.
5. Closing Incisions
Incisions are closed with sutures, and bandages or surgical tape may be applied.
6. Post-operative Care
Following your procedure, you'll receive instructions on caring for your incisions, wearing supportive garments, and managing discomfort. It's important to follow these instructions to ensure optimal healing and results.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who Performs Breast Aesthetics Procedures?
Aesthetic breast surgeries are exclusively performed by specialists in Aesthetic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. It's crucial to understand that interventions on the breast by practitioners without this specialized training may lead to complications that are challenging to rectify.
Who Can Have Breast Aesthetics Surgery?
Candidates for breast aesthetics should have completed breast development, be over 18 years old, be in good physical and mental health, possess realistic expectations, and exhibit significant breast deformities. In cases where severe deformities detrimentally affect an individual's psychological well-being, intervention may be considered earlier, under the guidance of a psychiatrist and with parental consent. For instance, adolescents with excessively large breasts may undergo surgery at 16 years old.
Does Breast Aesthetics Damage Milk Ducts?
In aesthetic breast surgeries, the preservation of milk ducts beneath the nipple and the connections of blood vessels with the nipple ensures the preservation of the breast's lactation function. If a specific breast reduction technique involves cutting milk ducts, the plastic surgeon will inform the patient accordingly.
Does Breast Aesthetics Leave Scars?
Depending on the type of breast aesthetics performed, incision scars may be present around the nipple, along the breast's lower midline, or on the inframammary fold. While initially more noticeable and pinkish in color, these scars typically become less conspicuous within 1-2 years.
Will the Breasts Grow Again After Breast Reduction Surgery?
Weight gain and pregnancy following breast reduction surgery may lead to breast enlargement. Hence, maintaining a healthy lifestyle post-operation is recommended.
Can I Travel After Breast Aesthetic Operations?
During the initial 6-8 weeks post-surgery, women should exercise caution. Protecting the breasts from impact is crucial, so avoid crowded environments where accidental injury may occur. In case of emergency air travel, patients must seek approval from their surgeon.
How Often Should I Go for Check-ups?
Consistency in follow-up appointments is essential. Stay in regular communication with your doctor and adhere to the intervals determined for check-ups. During these visits, share any concerns or developments in your healing process with your medical team.
